१ मे १९६० रोजी महाराष्ट्र राज्य स्थापना करण्यात आले.१ मे हा दिवस महाराष्ट्र दिन म्हणून साजरा केला जातो. राज्य निर्मितीसाठी बलिदान दिलेल्या १०७ हुतात्म्यांचे स्मरण या दिवशी केले जाते. १ मे हा दिवस कामगार दिवस म्हणून साजरा करीत कामगारांच्या परिश्रमाला सलाम केला जातो..
